The setting was framed with rich wood, radiant stained glass, and many friends and family that were ready to celebrate these two at Morningside Baptist Church -- where John and Lessie first met.

I've had the joy of getting to know this special bride since her high school days, and now I would be privileged to hand her the bridal bouquet!! Her winter wedding had heartwarming details with heirlooms: Lessie's locket was her grandparents, the cake topper was from 1939, Jon's cufflinks were his grandfather's and even her bouquet included a family handkerchief.

While Lessie included so many reminders of the generations of celebrated love before them, these two are such a beautiful love story all of their own that I wanted to share more about their story. And, who can tell a love story better than its leading lady?

Jon and I were acquaintances for almost a year before we really started getting to know each other a little better during our church league volleyball. We were on different teams but would always stay to watch each others' teams. Jon finally asked me to get coffee with him and a few weeks later asked me to be his girlfriend. This was special for me because he was my first boyfriend (and first kiss!).

Even early on we both felt as though we had known each other forever. Within a few short months, we knew this was something special and continued to get to know each other and each others families. Nine months after we started dating, Jon took me to Athens to visit some friends and completely surprised me with a proposal! I knew it was coming but still thought it would be a few weeks before he proposed - he totally shocked me. Best. Surprise. Ever. Our wedding party was one of the easiest things to decide on. We both have been amazingly blessed with good friends from childhood, from high school, and from college days. I loved being surrounded by my favorite eight girls on my wedding day! The wedding was absolutely perfect. Everything came together wonderfully and we are just so happy to finally be man and wife!We are loving marriage and loving getting to know each other better every day.

We've really loved learning how to love each other and are looking forward to a lifetime together.

What a special day it was!!!

This moment is a gasp of joy as Lessie is nothing less than breathtaking!

Lessie's bridesmaids bouquets included lotus pods, rich velvet cockscomb, fragrant stock, Silver Brunia, tallow berries, green hydrangea, and safari sunset spilling with seeded eucalyptus.

Lessie carried Green Eyed Beauties with tallow berries, lambs ear, white lisianthus, scabiosa pods and ranunculus to bring in the winter woodland textures.

Now, the guys.... they always seem to have something up their sleeves. In this casem personality was simply not able to be contained. LOVE IT.

It was truly a privilege to be a small part of their story. Thanks for including our blooms.
