Matt and I were introduced on a blind date (sort of). I needed a date for my sorority dance, so a mutual friend of ours arranged for us to meet. I wasn’t interested in dating anyone at the time, so we remained friends for about 6 months. I think we realized early into our friendship that we had deeper feelings for one another. We continued to date all through college. Matt is two years older and graduated in 2009, while I had two years of college left. Matt moved to Atlanta (conveniently where he knew I wanted to move back to since my family lived there). We did long distance dating for almost a year and a half. After I graduated, I too moved to Atlanta where we both have good jobs, fostered and adopted our dog, Marley, and purchased our first home. You could kind of say we grew up together.
— Lauren, the bride

And with everything going on, Lauren did all the calligraphy on her invitations herself. Super sweet bride is also super talented, too.

Love how Lauren is awaiting her dad to walk around that corner to see her for the first time outside The Loews Hotel!

And this sweet grandma moment...as a new grandma, I'm partial to sweet moments with granddaughters. We actually dressed the stems of Lauren's bouquet in the sleeve of her grandma's wedding dress. Her corsage included a touch of the same lace. Lauren's great grandparents' vintage birdcage was found at the entrance to welcome the guests.

Lauren's favorite flower is a Coral Charm peony. We kept this piece of her floral signature as a special inclusion and a sweet surprise. They were surrounded by soft pink peonies, fragrant garden roses and double stock, Italian ranunculus, delicate lisianthus and berries in a soft frame of Dusty Miller.

And it was just about time for the sweet love letters to be read....

Matt and I have talked about it a million times, and our ceremony was our favorite part. Our best friend married us. We wrote our ceremony together to ensure it was as personal as possible. Instead of typical vows, we wrote love letters to each other. We have been together for 8 years, so the ceremony was really important to us.

This sweet mom, Diane, outdid herself with the details. She had a few surprises for her daughter, as well. These two are beautiful.

Everyone died over our cake table (7 different cake flavors!) and they were decorated with flowers. We received a TON of compliments on our table arrangements and how unique and different each one was. Holland Daze team REALLY did an AMAZING JOB!

This may be my fave.... a sweet moment with the stunning bride. Loved being able to surprise her with her favorites.
